My HP Pavillion running W8.1 has recently started to lock up with a fuzzy screen.
Tried:
1. Blew out case -- gpu temperature dropped from the high 70 C to the low 70 C.
2. Updated Nvidia driver along with other pertinent drivers
3. Lock ups occur in normal startup when running Firefox or Outlook, etc.
4. Computer seems to be stable in SAFE MODE w/ networking when running multiple programs
5. In normal startup, ran HP Support Assistant (HPSA) video check and lock up each time before finishing.
6. In SAFE MODE w/ networking ran HPSA video check and found no problems
7. All during 3 days of testing, gpu temperatures never went above low to mid 70's and cpu usage stayed below 40%
