My envy laptop is not starting. This happened a few nights ago and I tried doing a hard reset and checking the ram and hard drive and nothing worked. When I power it on the power button lights up, along with the light on the wifi button, I can also hear the fans, and the speaker in the bottom of the laptop makes a few clicks and then nothing. I never get the hp logo or any indication that the screen is even powered on. I tried using an external monitor but that doesn't work either. When this happened a few night ago I tried a bunch of trouble shooting steps and nothing worked but I let it set powered up and maybe an hour later I saw the hp logo pop up and the laptop started. Once I was in windows I updated my drivers to make sure it wasn't a windows 8.1 issue and everything seemed ok until last night when I rebooted it and now I am stuck at the black screen like before but nothing seems to work, I even let it sit plugged in and powered up like last time.
Update: I tried resetting the memory last night but I had the same result. When I tried to use only one of the two memory sticks it wouldn't boot at all. This was the same for both. It would turn on and turn back off after a second. I am starting to think this is a motherboard issue and I have read about people tossing theirs in the oven for 10 minutes but I really don't want to do something like that. I am really disappointed I can't even get in touch with HP because the warranty is expired buy only a few months.
