Several hours after a Windows update, the computer goes to a blank screen after the HP logo appears. After a hard reboot, I can press ESC and it goes to the Startup Menu. F1 and F2 work, but F9, F10, F11 and F12 go to the HP screen, say Please wait, then goes to a black screen. The quick and extensive hard drive tests from F2 ran successfully with no errors. I've tried a hard reboot and pressing F11 continuously and it starts beeping at me as it is trying to complete 'sorting segment index pairs'. I have tried the steps in HP's directions on how to troubleshoot this problem; however, I do not know how to get to the battery. No compartment is visible. The keyboard light (behind the F5) and the wireless light (behind the F12) remain lit and cannot be turned off.
