Hello,
I currently have a (HP Pavilion g6-2216nr Notebook PC). I was logging on to my laptop and it started giving me issues. The first one was, it would start to log on but not get fully logged on before it froze and stayed like that until I turned it off manually. It did that a few times and then after about the third time of trying to turn my computer on, it just stayed as a black screen. I let it sit for over an hour and no changes happened, just remained a black screen. I hit escape and it said ESC... Pause Startup and took me to the start up menu. It gave me the option to hit enter to continue and it brought me to a screen that says "Boot Device Not Found" and also below that it says "Please install an operation system on your hard disk". I don't know much about working with a computer and I do not want to break anything or harm it.
Some other options it gave me at the Startup Menu are:
System Information - Displayed system info
System Diagnostics - It allows me to Memory Test, which passes, and to Hard Drive Check, which both the quick check and extensive check say SMART Check : Not Installed / Long DST : Not Installed.
Boot Device Options - Did not give me any options to choose from
BIOS Setup - Just gave info about the laptop
System Recovery - Have no tried yet. Really only using it if I can not find an answer here.
One last thing, there is a clicking noise when I turn the laptop on that lasts until I get to the Startup Menu. It sounds like there is a disc in the feeder and it is skipping over and over. I checked and there is no disc in the laptop. I think it may be the harddrive. It also sounds like it is in the middle of the laptop.
Please, any help will be grateful and I hope I can get this laptop working again as it is the only one I have at the moment. Thank you!
