HP Pavilion G6 computer won't boot anything and randomly shuts down

I'll try to be as detailed as possible about my problem here but if you need anymore info just ask and ye shall receive.

So about a week ago my computer kept on coming up with a error before boot telling my my cooling fan wasn't working correctly. Kinda just ignored it for a few days (bad decision?). Anyway, took it in to Best Buy today, thought of taking it apart and cleaning it myself but I was intimidated to say the least.  They cleaned out the fan, apparently it was full of dust. Got it back home today, booted it on and gave me the error that the fan wasn't working. Kinda just assumed it was from last time so I just pressed enter and it booted up okay. I then tried tackling my other problem; weird graphical glitches in Ubuntu 13.1 x64.  I finally got a screenshot and tried dragging and dropping into the upload section of their website, and my PC dies. What? Turn it on again and it boots up fine. I then upload the images via browsing for the file, not dragging and dropping it; works fine. I then head on over to this site that I found on google. I've been messing with the terminal lately and I try opening the apport read-only file via the terminal by typing in the directory address and .conf at the end. I then realize I have no clue what I'm doing and just exit out. I'm browsing teh interwebz for about 5 minutes and then bam, power shuts off. Boot up,  "System Fan 90b is not operating correctly." Also tells me about a thermal shutdown because it was too hot, which it wasn't. I literally had it on for 5 minutes, and it was not hot at all. Okay, okay. Boot up, doesn't even bootup. Restart, Windows Start up repair recommmended. Blue screen. I google something about the error on my phone, no pic (sorry!). Something along the lines of "Stop: c000021a {Fatal System Error}." All I know because that's what I googled.

Fast forward to now (about 10 min later). Won't even boot to blue screen. Crashes within a minute of selecting any option from Grub. Tried going into BIOS, crashes 2 min later

How screwed am I? Sorry, it's a bit long :/ Better to be thorough than the opposite. I personally think it had to do with the terminal in Ubuntu? I have no idea.

In case it isn't obvios. As of 2 days ago, I've been dual booting Win7 Ultimate x64 and Ubuntu 13.10.

Thanks in advance
