I'm having some start up issues with my Win8 HP Pavilion g7 (not sure of exact model, but it was purchased brand new during the holidays in 2012 if that helps any) after trying to open my Mass Effect game, it froze on a black screen. After using ctrl alt delete and choosing task manager to shut down the game, it froze once again, nothing showing. I shut down my computer with the power button (I'll admit probably not the smartest idea) and pressed it again to restart it. After a few minutes of the start up HP logo with the rotating circle, eventually the words "Preparing automatic repair" come up. Minutes pass and then a blue screen shows with a frown emoji [ :( ] although it didn't stay for long, I could read something like "having issues starting up" or such, but it quickly goes to black. After waiting and waiting, nothing changes. A friend of mine gave me some simple trouble shooting tricks she learned in collage, (f8 key to start in safety mode ext.) but none of it worked. I turned it off again and tried the same thing over, still nothing. I even tried a hard restart (removing the battery and draining all power from the system) and still nothing. It always says "preparing automatic repair" and then goes straight to black. Is there anything else I could possibly try to get it to start up? Or should I take it to a PC repair shop? Anything helps. Thank you.
