I ran a few tests on my pavilion and the Short DST failed, I'm assuming this means I need to get a new hard drive? All of the other tests came out as a success. My warranty is out of date, so should I re-new my warranty and fix my laptop or should I find a hard drive that is a good replacement without re-newing my warranty? I'm on a tight budget and can't afford something too expensive.
The failure ID was: 0GE0HF-5NQ72P-MFHI5F-60TN03
Product ID: LW174UA#ABA
HP Pavilion dv7
Windows 7 Home Premium
Intel Core Centrino
The computer was working fine last night, this is the first time I've had this error occur. Is there any way to save the data on the computer? Unfortunately this will be my second laptop failure in 5 years and will have cost me about 3 grand.
Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.
