Pavillion dv7-3079wm Laptop randomly shuts off (no BSOD)

My laptop shuts off at completely random times, like while playing WOW or just browsing the internet. There is no error message, it just instantly powers off. What is strange is that it also shuts off if I plug the power cord in while running on battery power.
I have tried everything I could think of to fix it.
I know it has nothing to do with software or viruses, I replaced the hard drive with a blank one, installed a new copy of windows and updated the drivers and it still does it.
I'm not sure what hardware problem it could be. I have a variety of spare parts and similar laptops so I have tested several components by switching them out with parts I know work fine. I have checked the ram, hard drive, CMOS (battery), regular battery, power cable and power socket (up to where the ribbon cable clips into the motherboard). They all work completely fine. I doubt its an overheating problem since the laptop never feels too hot and using a program called Speedfan it never goes above 64. I also completely disassembled the laptop and used canned air to clean everything just as a precaution.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
