After downloading a winodws updtae my laptop shows a black screen afteer i log in.There are no error displayed just a black screen with cursor.I can't even access the task manager.Pressing ctrl-alt-del does nothing.I have tried everything but nothing seems to work.I can however boot in safe mode.
I've tried running system restore but it fails everytime.I have also tried running sfc /scannow and chkdsk /f /r commands from command prompt via safe mode and windows disk.I have also tried startup repair from windows disk and running last known good configuration.None of these work.
I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit edition and using an HP Pavillion dv6 series laptop.
