Hello people of the HP forum! :)
My name is Richard , i have a bit of experience when it comes to computers, but mainly stationary, in this caze it's my fiances laptop witch is currently having quite a few problems.
To make some things clear at first, she is not very experienced when it gets to computers as she mainly uses playstation softwares and other electronics, even so she bought a hp pavilion laptop aprox 3 years ago, as she wsnt very experienced with it she hasnt cleand it nor maintained it with upgrades (not even basic windows updates...) so the laptop has problaby taken some damage over the years due to (like i said) lack in maintence.
Anyway, ill state the current problems beneath.
1. During playing games or watching movies (anything that uses a little more cpu) the laptop "crashes", a bussing sound occurs , the game freezes and the laptop shuts down after a few seconds, to me this is a "normal" heat problem, no?
So i used the speedfan software to check her temp, and it seems that as her cpu-usage is rather low ( EVEN when playing games) the battery drains extraordinary quick and the fans works rather slow causing the temprature to be around 48-53 on all fans..
As im not very experienced with laptops im not quite sure what to do her, ive heard that it's rather complicated to dissasemble a laptop and clean the fans( witch is my guess of the base of the problem?)
Is there a way to fix this that a stationary pc user can understand? a manual or quick guide?
2. Once the laptop boots up and we log-in, the usage of the laptop is extremly slow, going from opening a program or just opening a internet browser can take up from 10-30 seconds ( if we're lucky), Same with installations and other things, takes alot of time just to get things started..not sure where the problem lies here as ive both defragd the laptop and cleand it from everything that can cause the laptop to work slower..right now , it's not even using 10% of her driver..any solution for this?
3. 3/4 of her current USB slots wont work for certain objects like her mouse, plug it in and the laptop wont respond to it, drivers are up-to-date and i cant find any obvius problems with the usb slot itself..what could be the solution/problem to this?
This is mainly the problems we have right now, thank you on forehand for any assistance you can offer, yours sincere, richard.
