Hello,
Recently I posted a message regarding a dead HP Pavilion dv6-3210us.
Received a replacement motherboard & after installing, I powered it up. The fan raced & almost through the bootup, the computer shut down. When I turned it back on to try again, it came up with an "overheating" message. I waited & tried again & once again, it returned the same results...
Received another replacement motherboard today & upon further examination (the original replacement is exactly the same) there is a chip with 3 mounting screw holes for another heat sink. It appears to be a video card with the 4 memory chips along side of it. The board is exactly the same as the original except for these chips. Does anyone know about this chip & if there is a different type of heat sink/fan assembly for it?
Thank you for any assistance you may be able to provide.
