Ok guys so my computer was working just fine over 20 minutes ago, i usually do a reset here and there to clean of my hard drive, well i just now performed a reset on it and out of the blue it kept telling me theres a trouble resetting it ap i figured id turn it off and retry, now when i turn it on it goes to the hp logo then turns and back off over and over can someone please help me

Power button won`t turn laptop on. Solid numlock led lit and battery led on front solidly lit
My laptop will not turn on with the power button. The numlock led is continually on and the battery led on front of laptop is constantly on. Do these led lights indicate why the laptop will not turn on? Also the power button does not light when pressed. Laptop seems to be not responding at all!

Locked out of Laptop
II was asked to try an recover this laptop (HP pavillion G7 running windows 10).
The owner fell victim to the out of the blue 'incoming tech support call' scam.
He actually allowed the caller to access his laptop remotely and begin tinkering around.
When he realized his mistake, he killed the laptop, and hadn't turned it back on since.
Prior to even turning it back on, I removed the drive, and ran antivirus programs, anti malware programs etc, via sata cable from my computer.
I successfully found and removed the software used to get into the system, as well as a number of viruses and malware.
however, when I put the drive back in and booted up the laptop, I got a system password (not windows password).
According to the owner, he did not set a system password, only a windows password. That password did not work.
My guess is that the intruder managed to password the laptop before the owner had a chance to pull the plug.
Had he continued, I am guessing the intruder would have extorted the owner to unlock the machine.
After trying a number of things unsuccessfully, I was able to boot to a trouble shooting screen, and am currently running a system reset (keeping files), that has been sitting at 8% for a while now.
I have already told the owner that there is a strong possibility I will not be able to get into the machine.
If that is the case, we will need to wipe the drive and reinstall.
Problem is, he upgraded through the Win 10 program upgrade from 8.1, and does not have discs for either.
Anticipating this, I contacted Microsoft on the day I receieved the laptop (last Friday) to see if I could get a Win 10 install disc.
So far they have not gotten to me.
Any suggestions??

Stuck in POST loop after Reset attempt.
I have a Pavilion dv6, original installation was Windows 7. Did the free upgrade to Windows 10 and started having the "critical error" message when clicking on the start menu. Decided to do a reset, with saving my info. Got 40% done and stopped with no changes. Tried a full reset, got 80% done and stopped. Tried to start Windows and it is stuck in the initial black screen. Tried F11 recovery and when Windows started loading it stopped with BSD message "BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG-INFO".
I cannot locate my system disc or boot disc. Is there another way to fix this? Are replacement system disc available from HP or aftermarket?

Laptop wont boot after shutdown from Windows - everytime
I just bought this laptop (Product number is v5c49av) and did a clean install of Windows 10. Everytime I shutdown the laptop (from Windows 10 Start Menu) and when I press the Power button the laptop is stuck at HP logo and then turn off. I will have to press to Power button again to turn on and the laptop boot to Windows on 2nd time. I did hard reset, upgrade BIOS, etc. but still the same issue. Please help and thank you!

HP Pavilion wont boot after BIOS upgrade
Hi,
Need some help. I was prompted for a BIOS upgrade last night through HPSA. After installing it, the system wont boot now. I have tried the Windows + B key during power up but nothing. The power light stays on with no fan sound. Please help. It is a HP Pavilion 11-n032TU.

On startup with power connected, power button led, wifi led, caps lock led flash but screen remains black. I unplugged the power, removed the battery, waited approximately 15 seconds replaced the battery annd power cable. Nothing changed. After several tries nothing changed. Any suggestions?

why don't I get option to option bios when I boot up
I want to change the boot order to my optical drive so I can use a boot disk to install a image file.
When I start the computer I expect to see a message to press F12 to open bios.
I never see any message. I tried to install the bood disk in my optical drive and start the machine, it didn't respond and just went to the operating system.
I have recovered my computer using the boot disk and image file before with no problem.

HP Pavilion notebook will not boot
Hi I need help. My HP laptop will not boot, the power light is on the WiFi led on the f12 key is amber. I can hear the fan going but it just will not boot. I'm not getting any fashing led. I have tried a recovery USB but still no luck. Anyone have any ideas?

Screen suddenly goes black and/or starts buzzing
While going on my laptop, the screen will occasionally go black, sometimes making a weird buzzing noise too. It happens randomly, but I noticed that watching YouTube videos does trigger it. The only thing I can do is turn it off and on again, but I'm looking for a more sustainable solution and I'm also wondering if it could be a driver problem.
This only started yesterday but since then it has happened quite a number of times, and I haven't even owned the laptop for a month. There are 3 accounts on this laptop and I asked my siblings if they experienced similar problems on their accounts but they have not.

HP Pavilion Notebook not turning on
I have been using my HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-p174na for casual use (a couple of times a week, nothing strenuous at all) since I purchased it a year and a half ago. Yesterday I completed a spreadsheet and checked/sent some emails and then turned it off and put it on charge overnight.
This morning I unplugged it and put it away. Then on getting it out to use again this evening I cannot get it to start. I have checked a lot of support pages and searches for the problem and have tried all solutions I have come across (hard resets, attempting turn on with and without battery and/or AV power cord). Nothing seems to work. There are no flashing lights or noises coming from the notebook at all. There also seems to be no damage to any of the cables or power equipment. Please advise what course of action I should now take.
