I had the same issue caps lock and num lock keys blink five times and the fans spins up to max.
Now the currier collect my Zbook 15 G3 to have it serviced.
It seems we can't even change a setting becouse of the bios is not able to reset itself.

Black screen on restart, no cursor , just orange network, blinking cap lock
I was doing an update on System Mechanic software and used the restart prompt. My system black screened with no cursor. Nothing but black, no flashes of anything. I've tried resetting battery, bios, recovery dics won't boot, no safe mode, cable to other monitor. I at a loss. This was not a Windows 10 upgrade. I even tried booting with My windows 10 install usb....nothing. Is My hard drive toast. I've reset the hard drive and the memory cards. I'm running a solid state HD. Ideas

BIOS cannot locate the serial number of the new motherboard plus PXE -E61: Media test failure, check
I have recently restored an HP DV7 3063cl laptop that died from an overheated motherboard (MB). I replaced the MB with a new board from HP when the price was reduced to about $100, upgraded the CPU with an advertised as new AMD 640M, and applied Arctic Silver on both the CPU and Graphics chips. I put in 4 G of fresh memory, got the computer to operate, and installed Windows 10.
However, I have several problems:
The BIOS cannot locate the serial number of the motherboard during the boot process and sends a message to the effect. I hit the Enter key the boot continues.
I have tried to access the BIOS to enter the serial number or other possible solutions I found on line. One HP help forum had a BIOS editing software tool from Compaq from the year 2000 but said that it only would on desktops and the HP staff would have to provide a revised BIOS for my laptop.
2. I get two more error messages that
PXE -E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-M0F: Exiting PXE ROM
I have not seen any fixes for this issue but it only delays the booting process shortly before it continues.
Eventually the computer launches Windows but there are other issues.

Create Bootable USB Flash - HP Instructions Don't Match
Hello. I am trying to create a bootable USB Flash drive on a spare computer to update the BIOS on my HP G62-340 notebook using the following instructions: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02693833/. Problem is that I never get the BIOS Update Utility when I open the download. I get "Insyde Flash" program which tells me it is about to update the bios on my spare computer without ever prompting me to create the bootable USB flash drive. I exit "Insyde Flash" before starting it on my spare computer.
Can some provide instructions on how to create a USB flash drive for BIOS updates? Thank you.

HP Pavilion beatsaudio - Black screen and wont boot.. getting 5 set of double beeps...
HP Pavilion beatsaudio - Black screen and wont boot.. getting 5 set of double beeps...
Screen stays black... can hear fan noise... after 5 set of double long(abt a second) beeps the power LED stays on, but the caps lock makes double blinks (1 sec gap) after every 3-4 seconds (I think its same as double beep)....
Per support pages, double beep means BIOS issue, so I tried both BIOS resetting options of 1. Holding Windows + B keys and 2. All 4 arrow keys to reset BIOS... didnt work...
Then removed the CMOS battery (tested with multimeter and it has 3V power on it) put it back in... still no luck...
Am running out of options now... can anyone suggest any other options or explain me whats going on?

Charger blinking orange but computer won't charge
This started almost a week ago. I would plug in my charger and it would blink orange but if I took out the charger and re-plugged it in it would charge normally. Currently my PC completely died and every time I try to plug in the charger the light simply blinks a few times and nothing happens. HELP!'

HP Stream 13 windows 10 not starting up
One moment its working the next it's not. I turned it off and when i turned it on only got to the HP logo, after that the screen goes blank as it does when its about to load, but then it returns back to the HP logo, this is on a loophole and I've tried many things but it still wont work please help.

Sometimes laptop does not turn on!
I have a hp 840 g1 and I have some problems..
When I try to turn on pc I press power button, sometimes laptop start like normal but screen black and hp logo does not come, in 5-10 sec laptop shutdown itself and battery blimp light white to orange 2or3 times.
if laptop turn on properly it work smoothly,whenever i restart it , it restart smoothly and it work with no problem ,
whenever i shutdown computer then i try to turn on pc it do same things until it turn on properly,
i check battery hp software but not see a error, i try to hard reset but it does not work it do same thing.
Do you have a advice?
I have a 9 month warranty . What I do ?

Purchased a new laptop in qatar last month .Brand new ,no power,not working since purchased
I purchased a new HP Laptop having the following descriptions

I purchased this on teh 13th april in Lulu Qatar with two years warranty.Having relocation issues and breavement in family , could only go on the 19TH MAY .The unit was taken to india to be given to my son and when switched on the unit did not not work although the power was going in.
The servicing people confirmed that the mother board has to be replaced .Did Hp sell this to unsuspecting people in the guise of promotional offer , as their marketing plan to hive away defective goods ????. The seller and the authorised repairer failed to replace the failed unit even though this was a clear case of manufacturers defect.I am leaving qatar comming week for good and is there any way of HP comming up to replace the unit by addressing an email on this subject to me . Alternatively ,if I am forced to take it back to India either repaired or even without being suitably repaired, can a product liability compliant be registerd with HP.Please advice me urgently as I have just one week before I leave qatar for good.

ProBook 6565b - Power Light Stays On
Hello all,
I have an HP ProBook 6565b that will not power on at all; no screen activity, no booting to BIOS, no fans starting, no HDD's spinning... nothing.
The symptoms that I'm seeing are as follows:
- No lights come on at all when on battery power.
- On AC power, the only keyboard area lights that appear is the power button stays steadily on (no blinking, just stays on).
- On AC power, the only 'front' lights that appear is the Power LED (stays steady on) and the 'lightning' LED (stays steady on, but blinks 1x-2x a second; I'm assuming a 2nd LED or higher brightness blinking).
I have a feeling this is a hardware power issue, but I'm not sure how to troubleshoot it very far.
I've tried the following:
- Removed the battery and powered it up =no start/no lights (see above)
- Connected it to AC power and powered it up =no start/no lights (see above)
- Removed the battery, pressed and held the power button for 30 seconds, re-inserted the battery, and tried powering on (with AC, same lights as above; with battery = no start/no lights)
Any advice? Thoughts? The laptop is out of warranty, so that's unfortunately not an option.

My laptop turns off when shut

It just shows my HP symbol without the loading sign
So whenever I start my computer it shows my HP symbol but no the loading dots, and it just restarts and restarts, I've tried pressing ESC and resetting it but nothing works!
