I ran as administrator in command prompt sfc /scannow and it did not find any integrity problems

The HP support assistant has been used daily and all the drivers and windows updates are up to date

I used windows defender and there is no infection

Also I checked with malwarebytes and there is no infection

What is corrupted and how does it get fixed?

What else is being reported in the event viewer that needs fixing?

I downloaded two software:  whocrashed and bluescreen view.

These are the results for each:

I recently downloaded microsoft 8.1 and that didnt fix and I keep getting an HP warning that says I do not have Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 802.11b|g|n WiFi Adapter....or Microsoft Wi-Fi Direct Virtual Adapter

I have an HP Pavilion DV4. Computer has been great never had a problem. However, today I went to start up and nothing. Power cord is plugged in, but no lights are illuminated at all. Will not start. I tried a hard reset -  removed all sources of power ( battery , power lead ) and held the power button down for at least 30+ seconds. Re-connected  the power adaptor only ( not battery ). Laptop would still not start.

What can I try next?

Thanks.

Computer consistently freezes

I bought my HP ENVY 15t-j000 Quad Edition CTO Notebook PC with intel core i7-4900 MQ CPU, 16 GB or ram, NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M with 2048 MB of dedicated video memory, and a 1 TB 5400 rpm Hybrid Hard Drive. After saving up for this computer, it came on sale and haing saved up enough money i bought it with high expectations. After recieveing it several weeks later (it was held in China), i was ecstatic. After a month had drug by my computer would randomly freeze, but while it was frozen the image or sound would not stop. Instead the frame rate would drop tremendiously and the sound coming from what i was doing would turn into an almost satanic robot, with crackaling and robot noises included. But i continued to use the computer thinking that it was just a problem with the game that i was playing. However it got to the point where this would happen anytime that i opened anything. So, having bought repair insurance for my computer, called hp support line and told them of my problem. After running diagnostic tests and finding that my hard drive was completely broken, as well as my fan had broken and had led to the overheating and malfunction of almost every part in the computer, and trying to convince the support person on the other end of the phone that it was not crackaling noises comming from my speakers or hard drive, but infact that it was from the sound comming from the program, and telling them that it sounded similar to a satanic robot, which scored many laughs, i was quickly shipped the box in which to send my computer in for repairs. After a speedy repair and deliver, which included the replacement of almost every part in my computer, i recieved my computer. After the course of two to three weeks i came home from school and started my computer to continue writing a report that was due soon to find a black screen awaiting me and the words, "Boot device not found: please install an operating system," i panicked. But sadly, this was a friday and the next two weeks were Christmas break and i was not able to send for repairs due to me being out of town. I sent my computer in for repairs after the two weeks and, once again, recieved my computer back quickly after only eight days after sending it. However, soon after starting my computer, BAM SATANIC ROBOT MODE, yes it struck again. After downloading and installing the driver software for my video card, things soon returned to normall. Yet after only three days, and several windows updates, i had a new problem on my computer, something was taking up 99-100% of my disc space. Now this was more concerning because it rendered my computer completely useless as i was not able to even open Task Manager. By this time, my computer had been broken more than it was working. Yet it simply continued to get worse, to the point where a window displays asking if i want to end the process: Microsoft Windows. I am completely confused as to why my computer is doing this while my brother, who has the exact same computer as me, is having no problems at all while I treat mine like a baby tring to tiptoe around demanding programs and games while he uses such things all the time. When i was called by HP custumer support about my satisfaction about my computer, after i had most recently recieved it from repairs, i told the support agent about something using up 100% of the disc space and it not being able to run anything at all, where he promtly told me that it was simply the windows automatic updater and that when it finished it would run normally. And after reaserching for some time, i turned off Windows automatic updater, which solved absolutely nothing. I guess what i really want to know is if anybody is having the same problem as me or if they have fixed it somehow. Please let me know. Thank you.

HP ZBook 17'' black screen after going to sleep mode with custom power plans

0

Hello,

on my brand new HP ZBook 17" model FOV54EA.  Have/Use it since January 23rd, 2014.

ZBook cannot awake from sleep mode - black screen, everything unresponsive (mouse, keyboard, external keyboard), ZBook' s keyboard is lit & also 3 top buttons are lit. Shut down Laptop by holding power button, then it launches.

This started to happen after I created custom power plans based on HP optimized (recommended). Just basic settings I use these same power plans on my old laptop & pc, and no bugs they awake from sleep flawlessly.

I put Zbook to sleep by start>sleep, by pressing FN Sleep key, by closing lid, by slightly pressing power button, power cord was connected, battery fully charged, no cord connected, battery half charged, nothing Zbook cannot awake in any condition.

after I did this in cmd window  (found this advice on hp forum)

sfc /scannow                 ( note that there is a space between sfc and the / )

Let the process complete, Then type in the following and hit enter.

powercfg -restoredefaultschemes     ( note that there is a space after powercfg )

problem seems to have gone.

Does this mean that Zbook cannot work with modified power plans?

How can I still use custom power settings & still have normally functioning laptop in sleep mode?

I have a 2 month old HP ENVY TouchSmart Sleekbook M6-k025dx that no longer boots to Windows 8.

Pressing the power button turns on the laptop to a HP logo, then it immediately shuts off with

black screen and no power.

I did try to run the HP self dianostic test and everything passed, but it just didn't want to boot.

Anyone has seen this problem please help.

Thanks.

My HP Pavilion is slow

I just bought this less then a month ago, and it has been running slow since day 1.

My fan always seems to kick on, and I get "High CPU Usage" warnings, even during a simpletask like at looking at pictures with Windows Picture Viewer.

Not sure if this just Windows 8, so I uninstalled a lot of unnecessary apps, but I still have the same problem.

I am not a gamer or anything crazy, I just use this computer for work only.

Not sure whats going on, please help...

Since the system will not boot WIN7, flashing the BIOS is a problem.  Current Insyde BIOS is F. 12 and it should be F.66.

I've tried using Winkey + "B" on powerup using a 2GB thumb drive with UEFI and the BIOS update file, sp60864.exe on it .  The process appears to execute, as the USB drive lights up like it is loading, but after about 30 seconds an HP BIOS Udate grey screen appears with the message "BIOS Update failed - Unable to open BIOS Image file".  Which file is the BIOS Image File?   sp60864.exe is in the E:(USB)HP_Tools\Hewlett-Packard\BIOS\New folder.  Does it need to be elsewhere?

Thanks..... Gaucho70

Why did I purchase an extended warranty when HP sends me to Microsoft for support in Outlook?

I'm very much a novice at this. HP has sent me to Microsoft several times because of a 'software' product. I really can't pay for assistance any more. Back to my question. . . why have I purchased extended warranty when I'm sent to Microsoft for assistance. Does my warranty carry over to Microsoft?

HPG4-1215DX/AMD Laptop

Tried to LOG ON.    Got the message:  "The User Profile Service service failed the logon"  PASSWORD is original and has never been changed.   ALSO says:  "User profile cannot be loaded."

I can't log on???  I do have my original Recovery discs I purchased from Best Buy when I bought the Laptop 11/09/2011.

I've never had any problem since I bought it and no problem with Log On ever before!  Please help!  Thanks!

My HP Envy has started to have an intermitant problem. On start up the screeen becomes scrambled just a patten of pixels. At first thsi was just a series of balck and white stripes and if i turned the machine off and on again it would disappear. The last two times however this has become an array of colour pixels regular but nonsens almost tartan in appearance. It is also impossible to egt any response from the touchscreen or the track pad or an exteranl mouse. The on off switch merely seems to turn the screen blank or bring back the pattern it does not turn the machine off. This has happened twice and on both occassions the problem lasted several hours but when itried again after leaving the machine for a further hour or so it worked agian. it is working now but i now fear that the next time i switch it on the problem will reappear again. Any advice, has anyone else experienced anything like this!

The HP assistant indicates that an update is available.  The  update is entitled "HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI".

However, when I press ''download", it just goes on and on and on (i.e., the small "wheel" keeps turning and nothing seems to be downloading).  The only way to stop this action is to activate the task manager and to end task.
