power went out and screen never returned is just gray with pointer and thinking circle
I brought this laptop computer from QVC featured as a special price. I have the 8th generation Intel corei5-825ou Processor 1TB Hard Drive, 16GB IntelOptane Memory , DVD+Optical Drive, Windows 10,Touchscreen 15.6Diagonal HD LEDdisplay. I had followed the instructions serveral days earlier to set the computer up and was using it. Once will surfing the internet, the power went out. When it came bace on in minutes, the computer seemed to have crashed. Now there is only a grey screen with just a pointer and a small thinking dial. Nothing I have done has been responsive. I am typing from another computer because I am unable to use it at all. What happened? Cant it be fixed?

Hp wont turn on but num lk has steady light on
As mentioned when my laptop has the battery or the ac adapter on the num lock and the power lights are steady on and the laptop is completly off and wont turn on, can someone help me?

Hp notebook locked
Let me get this straight, I lost power during an update, which locked my screen with error code 0xc0000225 and now the only way to fix this is to spend $59.95 for a backup disk or USB drive, since I can not find the one I created? If that is true, I will never buy another hp product again (this is my third hp computer). Insane.

Lagging Computer Since Day 1
Since I've purchased this laptop (from Sam's) almost 2 years ago, it has continuously lagged and/or locked up on a regular basis. It seems to happen when I'm working in Google Chrome, Microsoft Office, or trying to print to my HP Printer. After discussing with HP Support almost 6 months to 1 year ago, with them logging into my computer remotely and looking around to see if they could fix it (to no avail), the laptop continues to disappoint at the highest level. I'm starting to think that there's something wrong with the hard drive, not being able to process the work I'm asking it to do, which is limited to general use (i.e. web surfing, document creations, excel usage, etc.). I am highly disappointed and cannot figure out what the next step is. I don't have the time to sit in front of my laptop to try and diagnose. I spend WAY too much time waiting on the lag between trying to perform the general tasks outlined above every single time I use this laptop. Does anyone have any idea on settings to change, similar characteristics or some things to look into. Thanks in advance for any information. I am very close to calling it quits and tossing this laptop in the garbage and never going back to HP products.

Issues with battery; no failures found in diagnostics
A few days ago on inserting my adapter to charge the battery, it wouldn't charge well. It kept stopping and continuing charging about every 2 minutes, the led light next to the inserting place of the adapter alternating from red to white.
I tried using the laptop with the battery removed, so just the AC adapter and this worked fine. This lead me to believe there must be issues with my battery; however I ran the HP Diagnostics for both the battery & the adapter and both tests succeeded.
I have updated the BIOS, this didn't help.
I also tried to calibrate my battery, which strangely wouldn't work with the procedure recommended by HP (that is, run the extensive Hard Drive test to drain the battery completely) as the battery only dropped a few percents after running it.
I then tried to do it manually, but I was unable to charge the battery until 100% as it stopped at 80% saying 'connected but not charging'. Wanting to try the calibration, I still waited until the laptop would shut itself down due to low battery; then charged it until 100% (this time it was possible) and let the laptop be connected for a few hours after being fully charged. Considering that the decharging went really fast, I assumed it must have been the lack of calibration on my battery.
However, my battery died very quickly again, so I decided another calibration might be needed, since the battery had not been fully charged the first time. I waited again until the laptop shut down, and am currently recharging it, but right now it stops at 75% percent, again with the message 'connected but not charging', and every once in a while - I guess when the percentage drops just slightly below 75% - it will charge for a few seconds and then stop again.
I again ran the Diagnostics and again the tests show no failures on both battery & adapter. I haven't had any issues with my battery before, so I'm really confused as to where the problem might lie.

Notebook Stuck - HP logo screen
Hi,
we have a lot of HP ProBook 640 G4 with Windows 10 - 64bit.
Some of these, at startup the screen stuck at the HP logo screen ("protected by HP Sure Start").
It's necessary force shutdown by hold the power button for at least five seconds.
I can run System Diagnostics (PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI) and it passed all tests, also I have update bios (Q83 - 1.02.05) but randomly problem persists.
Can anyone help?

LOST administrator BIOS password on HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-cx0001la
HI, I lost the administrator BIOS password on HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-cx0001la, other that that the computer on linux work just fine. but i need to access the BIOS setup of my Laptop.
When i tried to enter the BIOS setup after 3 tries, it says: system disable=i-74265859,
Produt # 2RJ23LA, Serial= CND8186SFC
HOw would I reset it?

Laptop won’t charge or boot up
I left my laptop plugged in charging for over a week and then I went to use it and it had no power, the ac adapter LED doesn’t turn on when you plug in the charger. It didn’t have any issues before and now it doesn’t boot up or do anything at all anymore. I tried using another HP charger and still nothing, I’m at a loss as to what to do now, please help.

BOIS password lost.
Alady brought this laptop for service. Her grandson bought a new computer a while ago and decided to give her this laptop. Unfortunately it had sat for long enough he forgat the BIOS password.
