PLEASE HELP
My Elitebook is not booting. I am getting this message "Bootmgr image is corrupt". I don't have a recovery disk, neither a windows installer disk. Windows 10 was preinstalled by the manufacturer. This laptop don't have CD/DVD drive. I have a windows license number already registered. Please let me knoy how to proceed to solve this problem.
I've had this HP 2000 laptop for a while now, it stopping working a few years ago, recently I determined the issue to be the motherboard, I just replaced it, the laptop would turn on the fan would run, but the screen would remain black, however I believe that was caused by me not plugging the the screen connector in correctly, it was cockeyed in the connector on the board. That has been fixed. However, before I discovered that, I had tried reseting the BIOS, (thinking that was the issue, when in reality the thing probably booted and I'm just a **bleep**) I tried holding f10 when powering it up, it continuously beeped. I didn't count how many, it stopped shortly after letting go of f10. I also tried Ctrl-B and Ctrl-V, both led nowhere. I then tried holding down all four arrow keys, which I thought did nothing, apparently it did, because after turned the computer off for the 'I don't even know how many' time, It won't turn back on, and when the charger is plugged in, the light next to it doesn't illuminate until about 30 second afterwards, the laptop still won't power up in any way. The old board doesn't do this, however it still has the problem it originally had. I also tried swapping the CMOS battery, and taking out and putting it back in after a few minutes. The problem still persists.
If you have any idea what caused this please let me know, along with how correct it, if possible.
Can't figure it out... Thought I tried all the tricks, even tried https://bios-pw.org/ .

Can I get some help with this?
Please and Thanks.
The Laptop when adapter is plugged in says that it is charging the battery but when pressing the power button the LED doesn't show and nothing displays on the screen. I have tried disconnecting the battery from the mahcine then just powering it with the adapter but still it won't turn on but it knows theres not a battery there as the charging light turns crystal white. Before this problem the laptop glitched out and the Mute volume button started to flicker. At the time i had a HDMI to VGA Adapter plugged into the HDMI Port with a Transformer powering the HDMI to VGA adapter this is when the problem occured.
Anything that could help me get it working again?
I have reset my password numerous times and I still can't log in.
Hi, I have a HP ENVY x360 - 15-w102ne (ENERGY STAR). Yesterday it suddenly won't power up. I thought it wasnt charged so I connected it and after an hour The led light on the charging port turned white as usual after full charge, but it still won't turn on. I tried different outlets too, but nothing changed. I tried the to hold the power button for 15 seconds to reset, and I also tried holding it with the mute button, but still nothing.
The only hardware change I made was last month when IIchanged the hard disk because it was failing and the laptop worked normally after, untill yesterday. Any help would be appreciated.
I too am experiencing the same problem. I only get a grey screen .Fan works, OS Windows 10 .Purchased in fall of 2016 and had hard drive replaced in the fall of 2017 . Can you offer any help .Thanks in advance .Charly52

HI. I have HP Pavilion dv6 6c35dx notebook operating windows 10 64 bit. I tried recently to install Phoenix OS (based on Android 7.1) as a second operating system. I was able successfully to create the dual boot menu but the new Os doesn't boot; when I choose it from the boot menu, it shows "Detecting Phoenix OS... found at /dev/sda3" then the caps lock light flash for 11 to 13 times and the pc reboots.
Can anyone help?
Thank you.
I have the exact same problem, except my computer was gifted to me almost 2 years ago. All warranties have expired, of course. Is it my cord or is it a computer problem?
All suggestions are greatly appreciated!
I have a black screen with a flashing light on caps lock. 3 times long and two times quick.
On a vacation my laptop screen dropped on a flight and cracked the screen however the laptop ran fine. After three additional weeks the laptop now won’t turn on.
The laptop is barely a year old and had been running great until it won’t turn on. Looking for some advise. I have removed the battery and re-inserted the
memory. I am wondering if there is anything I can do or if I have to send it back to HP.
This is is my first HP and disappointed that a small drop on a plane do any damage other than a screen crack. I take prestine care of my laptop since I use it for graphics and video editing and upset that this has happened.

Hello Community:
I friend of mine gave me a really old notebook he had gathering dust in a closet and it turned out to be a Compaq Presario 3415LA in incredibly good shape!
The thing is that, apparently, somebody attempted an OS update or something along that way and ended up deleting the whole OS.
Long story short: I need to update the BIOS to the latest version but, as I came to learn, HP removed all the files for this particular notebook. And on top of that, I need to update the BIOS from a USB stick because there´s no OS installed on the machine =(
What I was wondering is: would there be a place where I could find those old support files so I could create a bootable USB stick and update the BIOS from it?
Here´s the relevan info on the notebook:
Notebook Model: Presario V3000 (V3415LA)
Product Number: GM642LA#AC8
Serial Number: 2CE7332VNN
System Board ID: 30B5
BIOS Version: F.37
Hope there is still hope ...
Thanks!
I recently got an HP P800 1TB TB-3 external SSD drive to use with my 2018 Spectre X360 2FW61AV. It works fine in windows 10 as a drive letter, however there is no way to BOOT from the external NVME SSD. Is there a BIOS update to support external TB-3 attached drives as boot devices? If so, this would be a massively convenient way to have a 2nd operating system with decent performance.
