I reinstalled the original OS my laptop came with when i purchased it and installed the necessay drivers. After the installations, the windows is always stucked on Restarting if i want to restart the machine. If I want to shut the laptop down, it's always stucked on Shuting down. Whenever I open explorer and click on System Properties or any other control panel windows, it freezes. I dont know what to do to get my pc running smoothly again. Is there a way to end that and speed up the performance?

I'm also being asked for a password to get into the BIOS of my ultrabook, when I try 3 times I do not receive a code, instead I'm taken to a new screen with a visual of a keyboard for me to again try the password. From here when I push enter again I get a screen saying the "System Locked, Press the power button to restart."

Why does my laptop turn off immediately?
Laptop turns off immediately when the Esc button is pressed it allows me to go to set up configuration but still it doesn't allow me to fix the reason of why my new laptop turns off right away.

Laptop won't turn on - leds blinking
General:
Since the battery depleted, my pc does not startup.
Detailed description:
My original HP charger does nothing when connected and a non-HP charger gets the power light and the caps lock light to flash every 1.5 seconds consistently.
Specs for the non-HP charger I used:
- Similar voltage - 19.5v
- More amperage - 3.34A (instead of 2.1A-3.33A, shouldn't be a problem according to my knowledge)
Laptop specs:
Model: Elitebook 840 G1
Power demands: 19.5v, 2.1A-3.34A
Memory: 16GB RAM (8GB original + 8GB extended 2 years ago)
OS: Arch linux (for the past two years) with KDE
BIOS & Updates: There were no major OS updates before the issue and I never had any changes to BIOS since i received my laptop (preinstalled with windows 7 pro).
I have already tried:
- A hard reset (removing accessories, battery and pressing the power button for 15/20 seconds) and it did not help.
- Removing each ram card (i have 2) and also swapping them around and it did not work.
As my warranty has already expired, any help and suggestions would be much appreciated!

Notebook boot issues
So I have an issue when powering on my laptop.. I power it on and the boot is normal until after I sign in, after signing in i get to a blank desktop (no taskbar and none of my shortcuts) however I get a 'HP help and support' box with a progress bar, I cant see what the help and support progress bar is for as it only shows the progress bar. This happens every time I power on the laptop. I can CTRL+ALT+DEL to get the task manager up to end the process which allows me to get the desktop with the taskbar and the shortcuts back but I cant use any of them like Google Chrome etc as they wont open. I can go into control panel and I have installed Windows updates and this has made the issue worse as when I power off the laptop it says 'Windows is configuring updates' and this will be on the screen for a prolonged amount of time. When this does go and the laptop does eventually restart it goes through the same process.
I have uninstalled HP Support framework and this hasn't solved the issue... I have took the battery out and power cycled the laptop and still nothing.
CAN SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE?!

Led on power button becomes on and immediately off while switching on
While switching On my pavillion ab201nx laptop, the led on power button and hard disc led turns on and then within a second goes off. laptop doesnt boot at all. Tried hardware power reset without battery and removed ram and inserted back. Please suggest a solution. Is it something serious. Happened couple of times earlier and then a power reset without battery solved the issue but not this time

System Can (90B) issue during startup
Hi,
I'm getting System fan (90B) issue during the startup. I have to press enter to continue with the boot. Everything works fine thwn.

I've tried things suggested by other threads such as blowing air on the vents, cleaning outside surface
Also updated to latest BIOS but the issue is oersostent. The laptop has completed only 9 months and in fact the issue started in the 7th month itself so it is pretty new.

My Laptop Hangs After Sleep

HP Envy 15 startup problem
After my computer fell off my desk, it will not start. When I turn it on, I hear it startup and the fan run for about 5 seconds but then it goes quiet, but the light on the power button stays on, I’m scared! Ahhhhhh!
