I'm not sure if it's the battery or not, some times it works and sometimes the power light just flashes once when the power button is pushed. I want to remove the battery and see if it works plugged in without the battery.

Notebook fan comes on - nothing else
My HP Pavilion 13-a040nz x360 (bought in 2014 - so out of warranty) won't start after being powered off for a while. If it has been in Sleep mode, or restart, or even powered off for a short while, it starts fine. But if it has been left powered off for a while (enough time to cool down entirely?) it doesn't start at all for 10 or 15 minutes, EXCEPT the fan, which runs quite noisily. During this time there s no response to the power button or any keys.
After a long time the fan stops, then it seems to start normally.
I have gone through the troubleshooting steps; including battery and power tests (normal) and resetting BIOS. This model doesn't have a removable battery.
Any ideas?

My Laptop keeps crashing after i connect to a dock. if it is turnt on and I put it in the dock then nothing happens, but if i connect it while i close my laptop then it crashes....

I put some bios user code on my son's computer to prevent from too much use.
he discovers this user code but I forgott the admin code soo I cannot change the bios user code.
I got the message [ i 67194177 ] after three wrong password tries.
Please, could you give an admin password recover code ?

If someone have any solution for this problem, please tell me. I need to unlock bios so i can allow virtualization because i need to use VMware workstation and Linux for my school. Laptop won't boot after HP updates
Hi. I have a HP17 ca0007 laptop, a few weeks old which I bought from the online HP store and it won't boot up.
Since I bought it there has been an issue with the CD drive, when ripping CDs it would rip a couple of tracks then stop, saying there was no CD in the drive. Rather than return the laptop I bought a USB CD drive because I urgently needed the laptop for a music course I am undertaking and practice between tuition sessions.
On Tuesday the HP Support Centre on my computer sent me a series of updates to install. I installed them, and since then my computer will not boot. One of the updates was BIOS related. On carrying out the update of that HP BIOS install, the computer went through the entire process and it looked the like the update was successful, however when it got to the stage where the laptop was supposed to restart and go through the period of soft flashing etc the laptop was stuck. I left the laptop for as long as possible to complete the process, but after 8 hrs it was obvious something had gone wrong. To be fair it was obvious a long time before then, but I left it alone anyway.
I powered down and then restarted the laptop in the hope that the install had worked successfully and this soft flash looping was of no consequence, however, on start up the laptop doesn't boot up, it just goes straight back to a black screen with the very soft flash every other second.
On restarting again I attempted to enter the diagnostic tool by pressing Esc- this did not work.
A further restart using the Windows and B keys enabled me to get into the Bios rollback facility, and this process appears to work, right up until the point where the computer needs to restart and go through the soft flash process, where again the laptop gets stuck as a black screen with the soft flash every other second...

Black Screen with Blinking Caps Lock
Screen is black. Tried connecting to TV with HDMI cable, but no signal. Caps Lock key blinks once every 2 seconds repeatedly. Haven’t installed any new hardware or software.
