My notebook stopped booting or even displaying backlight after being previously stucked in a "preparing automatic repair loop". It's always connected to WI-FI so it updates automatic from time to time. After the incident, it stopped displaying anything after I switched it back on, even the backlight doesn't show, the only thing that comes up is the light on the power button. I tried connecting it to different external displays using HDMI, but it's still the same, opaque! please someone help me!! I need it for my final year project, I have a lot on it. Possible repair prices please!!

SMART Hard Disk Error
I accidently hit my laptop below the keyboard on the right side and the internals states to make beeping sounds. The OS froze so I force shut down my laptop and turned it back on. Then I got the hard disk error and a black screen . When I tried to startup anyway, the screen said "Bootable Device Not Found". I'm assuming I either damaged the hard drive and disconnected on of the wires inside. How should I solve this? I tried to open up the laptop(the warranty ended in July), but I was struggling, got nervous, and stopped. Please help

Boot error re: Battery, HP EliteBook Error Code 601
I'm going to give a lot of history here because the subject deserves it due to the amiguity or the Error Code.
A) Previous thread (now Archived) is:
I believe this thread was archived as I was working/replying with it.
B) My computer (old HP 8540) history: It started with an occassional "Error Code 601, Internal Battery". Then it got that code on every start up. Then the computer started crashing, sometimes requiring a "few" reboots to get it stable again. Then I ordered a new "battery".
C) I found this forum and started doing some trouble-shooting My personal conclusion so far is that:
(1) It is the main power to the computer battery, NOT the CMOS battery.
(2) HP's software tests on the battery and charger showed them both "Good", maybe not useful.
(3) DVM (Digital Volt Meter) on Charger showed 19.97VDC, HP Spec = 18.5VDC, can't check battery Amps.
(4) I've ordered a new battery and it's on its way.
(5) Following (most) of Jeet_Singh's recommendations (from original thread above) seems to have temporarily (mostly) fixed the issue. There is infrequently an Error Code 601, but computer is stable after going past the message.
D) After draining the battery to 15% capacity, the problem seems to be under control for now.
I'll post more after I install the new battery

Selected boot image did not authenticate
Went to complete homework for finals and the laptop says selected boot image did not authenticate in a blue box. I have had this laptop for a little over a year so I do not see what the problem is . It is only used for school and I am trying everything and it is not working! As I can see I am not the only one with this issues !

I DON'T KNOW WHY THIS HAPPENED BUT PLEASE HELP ME.
THE LAPTOP IS UNUSABLE FOR NOW BUT WHEN I CHARGE IT,
IT STILL CHARGES BUT CANT BE TURNED ON

Very slow boot up
My lap top takes forever to boot up. I have seen the previous posts about this but Its not the operating system. I have tried restoring it, repairing it and reinstalling it but it makes no difference. I used my son's DELL and realized how much slower the HP took to boot up. Once it boots up, it works fine. Can you help?

Does not boot directly after fresh bootup
After upgrading HP Compaq 2710p tablet to a Kingspec 128gb 1.8" SSD it is not possible to boot directly each time after a fresh boot up (shutdown status).
A message "Non-System Disk or Disk Error" appears and after pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete it works fine.
The problem dissappears whenever the laptop is restarting from a working status.
Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

HPNC6400 in a loop boot cycle
Hi,
I have a HPNC6400 when turning on it goes in a boot cycle loop.
The screen shows
F9 - Boot Device menu
F10 - ROM Based Setup
It starts booting up and it gets back to this screen in a loop.

Pavilion X2 12 slow boot after Intel ME update
After installing the HP softpaq for the Intel ME firmware update in Nov 2017 , the boot up time is 2 minutes and 15 seconds between the keyboard indicating light coming on and the HP logo appearing. Restart also takes the same amount of time. I would prefer going back to the previous firmware if I could find it.

system disabled
Please help! I have an HP Pavilion 635 that has an admin password on boot. When I hit enter 3 times I get the System Disabled (53028011). Is there a password I can use to get around this and get into the computer to remove the password?

Notebook goes on and off saying GO BIOS UPDATE
While installing updates I lost internet connction. Now my computer comes on says the system BIOS is being recovered, goes through steps Writing New BIOS image, then to verifying new BIOS image, thensays system BIOS recovery is complete, the computer restarts and it does the same thing over and over. What do I need to do to make this stop and use my laptop again
